WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO:
We made a Christmas Ice Ornament.
Calix loved adding all the pieces to the water and watching it melt once it had frozen
- great sensory activity!
We went to a Christmas Party and decorated Christmas cookies
I'm 100% certain that Calix enjoyed eating most of the icing before we were able to finish decorating!
Calix turned his footprint painting into a Christmas Tree
He was so proud of the outcome - a great fine motor activity sticking decorations onto the tree!
We baked Gingerbread Cookies for our Gingerbread Man Theme
It was tricky trying to keep Calix from eating all the dough before putting the cookies into the oven to bake!
We made play-dough Christmas characters
Another great sensory and fine motor activity. There are so many "decorations" one can use!
Letter to Santa and Advent Calendar
Calix dictated the words I needed to write to Santa, and each word was "stamped" and posted into the Advent Calendar. At the end of each day, Santa "leaves" a surprise for Calix when he comes to collect his "letter". This has been an absolute hit!
WHY DO WE CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS?
